Families at the U.S-Mexican Border attempting to cross over into the U.S for a better life are being met with strict resistance. Once crossing over if caught by the U.S government are then detained and oftentimes children are being separated from their parents. Many of these children are only following their parents' leads and doing what they are told. These children do not understand the full ramifications of their parents’ decision. Some of the children crossing the border are being sent alone to escape poverty, drugs, crime, and an overall lack of resources. The United States is known for enforcing strict immigration policies and has always addressed illegal immigration as an issue that needs to be controlled. The numbers are skyrocketing, but the U.S has failed to find a solution that safely protects these children.
