To communicate is to express one's thoughts and emotions. Communication is human nature's survival basis, it is the way of life. To desire a professional career that reveals narratives that display the lives and history of those within the African Diaspora through filmmaking and photography. To story tell through a lens it is important to understand each form of communication and how it has the ability to draw in an audience. A Career in visual communication means using tools to create a picture. Media combines all forms of communication to recount relevant stories around the world. Events like the Black Lives Matter protest took place in, summer of 2020, across the United States, and sparked international outrage. Protest replayed on media outlets globally. Child Migrant Detention Centers and Family Separation does not reflect Democracy.

Families at the U.S-Mexican Border attempting to cross over into the U.S for a better life are being met with strict resistance. Once crossing over if caught by the U.S government are then detained and oftentimes children are being separated from their parents. Many of these children are only following their parents' leads and doing what they are told. These children do not understand the full ramifications of their parents’ decision. Some of the children crossing the border are being sent alone to escape poverty, drugs, crime, and an overall lack of resources. The United States is known for enforcing strict immigration policies and has always addressed illegal immigration as an issue that needs to be controlled. The numbers are skyrocketing, but the U.S has failed to find a solution that safely protects these children.
